If you’re applying for a new credit card, it’s important to keep in mind that you’re one among many others also applying for the same card. Here are a few tips to keep in mind that can help you improve your chances of being accepted over the others you’re competing against.
- Don’t apply during the holidays. It may seem obvious to get a card during the holidays to help you with expenses, but since it’s what a lot of people are doing, you’ll be facing a lot more competition. In times where there’s more competition, there’s also, unfortunately, a lot more rejections.
- Don’t apply to many cards at once. You could actually hurt your credit score but submitting too many card applications at once.
- Set up your credit cards to automatically pay each month. Missing a credit card payment can only hurt your credit score, but by setting up auto payments, you’ll ensure that you never fall behind.
